When it comes to the quality and use of makeup removers, it’s a topic that’s necessary but usually a bit boring, am I right? I think we can all agree that putting on makeup is much more exciting than taking it off.
I must say, though, when I saw that Avon was launching a new makeup remover cloth, my stomach did get a few happy butterflies! Slowly but surely, I’ve been trying to make my beauty routine more and more eco-friendly, and I’ve been cautiously intrigued by the idea of removal cloths.
Does it work effectively? Will my sensitive skin like it? How the heck does it even work without soap? There was only one way to find out: trying it out for myself. That’s right – I put Avon’s new Unready Makeup Removal Cloth to the test! Before we see how it went, let’s get a little background on the product.
What is the Unready Makeup Remover Cloth?
The Unready Makeup Remover Cloth is a dual-sided, resuable makeup removal cloth by Avon launching on March 1, 2023.
Designed to be a more eco-friendly, sustainable alternative to makeup wipes, this cloth allows you to remove makeup using just warm water.
Advertised benefits include:
➤ dual-sided
➤ makes makeup removal quick and easy
➤ Short fibers on one side remove makeup
➤ Longer fibers on the other side gently exfoliate the skin
➤ travel-friendly
➤ made with 100% polyester
How do I use the Unready Makeup Remover Cloth?
To use this cloth, simply dampen it with warm water, and wipe away!
The side of the cloth with shorter fibers is designed for makeup removal, while the side with longer fibers gently exfoliates the skin. After removing your makeup, wash your face using your favorite cleanser as normal.
After each use, make sure to wash the cloth with soap and water, and then air dry. Avon recommends machine washing this cloth twice a week if you use it regularly.
My experience with "Unready"

Ease of Use
I experienced zero issues using this makeup remover cloth. Swiping away the makeup was just as easy as using any makeup wipe. It was straightforward, and removed all the makeup that wasn’t water-resistant. It also didn’t fold, roll, or get stuck the way that a lot of wipes or microfiber cloths do. The fabric seems to be the perfect weight and texture.
Removal Power
I was impressed how well this cloth was able to remove my makeup without any trace of soap. Like I mention in the video, the only exception was my waterproof mascara and eyeliner, which both left a smudgy residue. My foundation, powder, blush, highlighter, lipstick, and eyeshadow came off like a breeze.
Other thoughts about Unready
In addition to the removal power, using this makeup cloth simply felt good. The fibers are nice and soft, which I’m sure will feel like an extra treat at the end of the day.
Only time will tell if I can consistently hand wash my cloth after each use. If you don’t see yourself doing that, I recommend getting 7 of these for each day of the week. If you think you can be diligent about hand washing every night, you can probably get away with 1 or 2. I personally think it’s a good investment when you consider how much money you spend on makeup wipes each year.
Well, there you have it! The full scoop on my experience testing out Avon’s fmg Unready Makeup Remover Cloth. What do you think? Do you plan to make the switch to this reusable cloth?
