Which shade of Match Wand Correcting Stick do I need?

Match Wand is available in 3 shades including Pistachio, Gelato, and Sherbet. Each of these shades has a specific purpose depending on what you are trying to neutralize. So which one do you need? Let’s take a look!

PISTACHIO

This shade is the most straightforward, as lots of folks can relate to struggling with patches of red skin. You can use Pistachio to neutralize redness – particularly around the cheeks, nose, and forehead.

GELATO

Gelato is a great choice for discoloration under the eyes, though it’s important to realize that everyone’s undertones here can vary. This yellow shade neutralizes areas that are purple and/or blue. If you’re not sure of your undertones, often this is easier to see by looking at the veins on your wrist.

SHERBET

Sherbet is another great choice for the under-eyes, and it neutralizes areas that are blue with a more olive undertone. It’s great for brightening up dark spots.

My experience with Match Wand Color Corrector

Press play below to see what happened when I tried out all 3 shades of Match Wand Correcting Stick!

Application

This makeup stick goes on very smoothly. The texture is basically identical to the Match Wand Foundation Stick, which is just creamy enough to avoid cake-ing. Using my fingers to blend required some pressure, but ultimately created a nice, even blend. I highly recommend using a brush, as this made it much easier and faster to blend the product exactly where I wanted it.

Appearance/Finish

This product is not exactly designed to dazzle, but the finish really gets the job done behind the scenes. In order to get the appearance that you want, it’s important to choose the correct shade. As I mention in the video, Sherbet was the best choice for my under-eye area, and I feel that it really made a difference in brightening things up. This will definitely be a staple product in my makeup routine to neutralize my dark circles and prominent veins on the edges of my upper face. It just plain works.

Other thoughts about Match Wand Correcting Stick

As I mention in the video, it’s important to realize that you may need a thicker application of this product than you think. Because Match Wand Correcting Stick looks so vibrant on it’s own, it’s easy to get tricked into thinking you’ve over-applied. Remember that your foundation will really even things out, and the brightness is a good thing. Don’t be afraid to apply generously!

Well, there you have it! That’s what happened when I tried out Avon’s new color correcting stick. Will you be trying one of these shades out for yourself? Let us know in the comments!
