The full scoop on Avon’s multi-peptide primer blurring the lines between makeup and skincare

Do you struggle to find the right makeup primer for you? I can definitely relate! Although prepping the skin is an important step, sometimes the subtle nature of primers can leave us second guessing our choices, even when we look great!

That’s why this year, I’m ready to shift my focus away from covering or blurring my imperfections, and towards picking a primer that does something a little more. Can the new Avon peptide primer fulfill that goal? There was only one way to find out!

What is Cashmere Multi-Peptide Face Primer?

fmg Cashmere Multi-Peptide Face Primer is a dewy finish makeup primer by Avon that launched on Feb 14, 2024.

Formulated with a Matrixyl 3000 peptide blend, this primer is designed to smooth and prep the face for makeup, while reducing the signs of aging. In addition to the peptides, it also contains collagen and hyaluronic acid for skin hydration, plus niacinamide, which can have multiple anti-aging benefits.

Overall, it is advertised to visibly plump the skin, strengthen the skin barrier, and smooth out the appearance of pores and fine lines. And, like any good primer, it should help your makeup stay on longer so you really get the most out of your look.

What makes it different?

When it comes to the Avon catalog, we’ve had no shortage of makeup primers these past several years. It’s easy for customers to get confused about what they need and which primer to choose. So how does Cashmere Multi-Peptide compare? While our two other current primers offer some nourishing benefits in the form of plant extracts, this new primer really doubles down on the skincare focus with peptides.

Peptides are a type of amino acid chain often used in skincare products like serums. They can improve your skin’s elasticity, firmness, and plumpness by stimulating your skin to make its own collagen. Together with the added collagen, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide, this primer can be a really powerful tool for prepping and nourishing the skin at the same time.

What happened when I tried it out?

My experience trying out the Multi-Peptide Face Primer was pretty good! I really appreciate that it goes on and dries clear, as this makes it a good, simple option for folks who are not looking to color correct. The dewy finish was very subtle, which I also appreciated as someone who typically likes a matte look.

What really impressed me was the feel of the product. It was incredibly lightweight, and made my face feel soft and nourished. And, as I mentioned in the video, it really did help prep my problem areas, and prevent flaking in my dry spots.

This will definitely be my go-to makeup primer moving forward!

Well, there you have it! What do you think of this new Avon peptide primer? Will you be trying it out for yourself? Let us know in the comments!
