Top 12 discontinued avon makeup products (and their replacements)
As a company that’s been around for 134 years, it’s no surprise that Avon is constantly moving and changing to keep up with modern trends. Of course, change is not always easy! The hardest part of what I do is disappointing my beloved customers when their favorite product gets discontinued.
The good news is that Avon never leaves us hanging! There is always something new to try, and usually the replacement is even better and more on-trend than the old version. I’ve compiled a list of the top 12 discontinued avon makeup products that I get asked about the most, plus my recommended replacement. let’s jump in!
Looking for more scoop on discontinued Avon makeup products?
So many of my customers were disappointed when they found out the Cream-to-Powder Foundation was going away! While it wasn’t my personal favorite, many folks appreciated the way it went on smooth and creamy, but dried to a matte finish.

My recommendation:
FMG Match Filter Serum Tint Foundation
The Match Filter Serum Tint Foundation is a cream-to-powder foundation very similar to the old True Color one.
Match Filter offers a demi-matte, sheer-to-medium foundation look. Plus, it has hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and a special berry complex, so you can give a little extra love to your skin. I think people will love this replacement!
UPDATE: This article has been edited to reflect the launch of the Match Filter Serum Tint Foundation.
#2 True Color Glazewear Lip Gloss
This lip gloss was already gone by the time I joined Avon, but even today there are O.G.s who still ask me about it. It must have been pretty great! Even so, I think even the diehard Glazewear fans will love my recommended replacement – it’s one of my favorite makeup items in Avon’s entire catalog.

Due to fluctuating inventory and product offerings, I’m not able to continue updating this post fast enough.
Smooth Minerals is another customer-favorite discontinued Avon makeup collection that is now gone for good. It was actually one of the first foundation products I ever used growing up, though I quickly moved on to more full coverage options because of my dance activities (and my allergies). Regardless, I understand the love!

My recommendation:
Match Dust Finishing Powder
Match Dust Finishing Powder launched earlier this year, and I think it’s a pretty suitable replacement for the old Smooth Minerals line. That said, it’s not technically a foundation, so it only comes in two translucent shades.
However, it’s designed for the same type of natural look, and it’s made from naturally-derived ingredients. I think folks who loved Smooth Minerals will definitely fall in love with Match Dust!
Just like the Smooth Minerals foundation above, the Smooth Minerals Blush was a favorite among my customers. In fact, I use it myself – at least, I do until my current tub runs out! It was great for a natural blush look.

My recommendation:
Glimmer Powder Blush
Although we don’t currently carry a loose powder blush, I think the same folks who enjoyed Smooth Minerals will really like the Glimmer Powder Blush.
The formula contains vitamin E, so you still get some skin benefits from the blush. Glimmer provides a buildable color payoff, with ultra-fine pearls for a beautiful, radiant finish!
UPDATE: This selection has been updated to reflect the discontinuation of the Blushing Beads Powder Blush in November 2023.
#5 Beyond Color Lipstick
Beyond Color Lipstick was already being phased out by the time I joined Avon, but customers are still talking about this discontinued Avon makeup product. Luckily, we have a super similar lipstick line that Beyond Color fans should check out!

My recommendation:
Glimmer Satin Lipstick
Glimmer Satin Lipstick is launching on March 16, 2021, and it’s a true hero for folks who enjoyed the old Beyond Color Lipstick as well as the now discontinued True Color Lipstick.
This lipstick is in the same ultra-affordable price point as Beyond Color, but I think most customers will find that it’s a huge upgrade from previous formulas. It has a soft satin finish with medium-full coverage – and is great for creating a smooth lip look. Click the “get more info” link below to see my full review of Glimmer Satin.
For a while there, the Flawless Liquid Foundation was our only remaining liquid foundation choice, so it had a pretty solid following. Now that Avon has released more high quality liquid foundations, this product was finally phased out. Not to worry, though – I’m confident that Flawless users will fall in love with my recommended replacement!

My recommendation:
Cashmere Complexion Longwear Foundation
Cashmere Complexion Longwear Foundation is my go-to liquid foundation these days. The finish is so gorgeous, and it’s also formulated with nourishing ingredients that make it really soft on the skin.

True Color Bronzing Pearls isn’t our most popular discontinued Avon makeup product, but for a while there it was the last remaining bronzer in Avon’s catalog. It definitely had it’s loyal fanbase! That said, I think my customers will be pretty happy with our new replacement.

UPDATE FEB 2024:
Due to fluctuating inventory and product offerings, I’m not able to continue updating this post fast enough.
This mascara was discontinued just last year. Though it wasn’t our most popular mascara, there were plenty of people who were bummed when it left for good. It was designed for lengthening of the lashes.
↓
My recommendation:
True Color Love at 1st Lash Mascara
Our highest-rated mascara for lengthening is True Color Love at 1st Lash.
This mascara is designed for all-around lash health, so it also provides volume, strength, and conditioning in addition to length. Super Extend fans will want to give this one a try!
Like the bronzing pearls above, this contour stick was the only product of its kind for quite some time in the Avon catalog. Lots of folks really loved it, though it certainly wasn’t one of our best-selling products. That said, people appreciated that it was double-sided to provide more precise coloration when contouring.

Sorry, there are no replacements at this time
#10 True Color Moonlit Highlighting Powder
The Moonlit Highlighting Powder is not a product I get asked about a ton, but sometimes it does come up – and the person asking is always sad to say goodbye to it. This was a powder-based highlighter with a luminous, pearl finish.

I was pretty bummed when I found out the Mattifying Pressed Powder was leaving. It’s been a staple in my makeup bag for quite some time. Now that I see what they are replacing it with, though, I’m finally ready to say goodbye! I think Mattifying Pressed Powder fans will really love this one!
↓
My recommendation:
FMG Cashmere Complexion Compact Powder Foundation
I talked a little bit about the Cashmere Powder Foundation above, and it turns out this baby is pretty versatile! Like I mentioned, this powder foundation can be applied wet or dry depending on what level of coverage you want. When applied dry, it’s like a higher quality version of the old Mattifying Pressed Powder. I’m so excited for Pressed Powder fans to try this out!
The True Color Luminous Blush was a makeup bag staple for many people. Folks appreciated the color payoff of this product, and it was a pretty affordable price point.

Well, there you have it! Those are the top 12 discontinued avon makeup products that customers ask me about the most. Are you missing an old product that’s not on this list? Let us know in the comments, and I’ll do my best to recommend your soon-to-be-favorite product!
Why did they discontinue Ultra Luxury eyeliners AGAIN??? The last time they canceled I had to buy all i could get my hands on through ebay. It was the perfect balance between creamy glide on and NOT smudgy. Nothing else works for me. Huge disappointment.
Hi! Looking for Avon U10 eyeliner–can’t find anything close to replace. Can you help? Thank you!
Hi Paula,
Sorry for the delayed response, for some reason my automatic spam filters filtered your comment incorrectly.
I asked around, but couldn’t identify any Avon eyeliners by that name. Do you mean the Ultra Luxury eyeliners (these were pencil liners)?
At this time, we don’t have any pencil liners, but we do have some really nice cream-based liners.

Hi Mary,
Unfortunately I don’t know the reason, but I understand the disappointment. A lot of folks loved that product.
Have you had a chance to try out any of our newer liners that launched last year? The Cashmere 24HR Cream liner in particular might be right for you: https://fierceandradiant.com/avon-cashmere-eye-collection/#cream-eyeliner
