When I saw the first advertisement for Avon’s new Birthday Balm Lip Crayon, I knew this was a must-try item for me and my customers. Application

The application process was a breeze! It’s lip balm, after all. It also felt super soft and creamy going on, so applying this product was very enjoyable.

Appearance/Finish

I really love the appearance of Birthday Balm. It definitely delivered on the promise of a “delicate shine” finish. This hint of shine made my lips look really moist and healthy. I felt so radiant!

Like I mention in the video, I also appreciated the amount of color this product gives. I wasn’t sure what to expect in this regard, as with some products “sheer hint” can be code for “barely noticeable”. However, I found the color payoff to be pretty substantial for a lip balm. I could really see the purple, and I felt like it complimented my skin tone really well.

Staying power

The advertising for this product doesn’t make any claims about wear time, so there’s only so much we can expect. Overall, I think I reapplied about 1 or 2 times throughout the course of the day.

I will say though – this lip balm fades very gracefully. I reapplied mainly to get the full color impact back, but my lips maintained their healthy glow throughout the process. The delicate shine did not really fade – just the color. I also did not experience any lip chapping at all, which is rare for me! I was pretty impressed.

Other thoughts about Birthday Balm Lip Crayon

Overall, I think Birthday Balm Lip Crayon is a huge winner for me. It’s something I will use on a regular basis, especially during quarantine when everyone is feeling a bit more casual. The color payoff seems really versatile, so I can wear it with or without my full face of makeup. I also don’t have to worry about it messing up or drying out my lips, which makes it perfect for dance rehearsals. I am officially a Birthday Balm convert!

Well – that’s all of my initial thoughts about Birthday Balm. Are you planning to try this out for yourself? Let us know in the comments!
