If you’ve been a makeup lover for a while, it’s easy to get jaded by all the marketing, am I right? When I first saw that this new Avon lip gel was coming out, I admit my first thought was “oh, so a re-branded lip gloss“.
When I tried it out for myself, however, I was quite surprised by how different it was from my expectations. If you’re wondering whether this product is right for you, you’ve come to the right place! Let’s dive in with a little background.
What is GO. by Glimmer Lacquered Lip Gel?
GO. by Glimmer Lacquered Lip Gel is a glossy lip color product by Avon launching on Jan 29, 2025. This lip gel is similar to a lip gloss, but features a gel-like texture and a buildable tint of color. It also has nourishing ingredients such as Noni Fruit, Passionflower, and Amla Fruit Extract, which are altogether advertised as a “Super-Fruit Extract Complex”.
This product is also advertised as paraben-free, talc-free, sulfate-free, phthalate-free, and mineral oil free.
What makes it different?
Lacquered Lip Gel is a bit of a hybrid product, which sets it apart from Avon’s other gloss, balm, and lipstick products. Though it goes on similar to a lip gloss, it is on the thick side, and dries with a more satin-like finish. It does feel nourishing like a balm, but has the ability to be as bold as a lipstick.
More than anything, though, I am impressed with the way it acts as a lip stain. As the gel fades from my lips, there is plenty of color remaining, and I really like the way it looks. Unlike a lip stain, my lips don’t feel dried out or feathered afterwards.

GO. by Glimmer Lacquered Lip Gel is available in 6 different shades including Whisper Pink, Waffle Cone, Orchid Bloom, Sunset Rose, Seeing Red, and Currant Crush.

So all in all, this lip gel was not what I expected, but I think it will definitely become a favorite for a lot of my customers.
